The story of Grupo Costel began in the early 1960s, when Mario Latártera and Oswaldo Micalizzi, two Italian immigrants with experience in the electrical trade, decided to build something of their own in Valencia, Venezuela.

Since 1964
The story of Grupo Costel began in the early 1960s, when Mario Latártera and Oswaldo Micalizzi, two Italian immigrants with experience in the electrical trade, decided to build something of their own in Valencia, Venezuela.
With a pickup truck, a toolbox and a small workshop near Avenida Cedeño, they started out visiting the industrial plants of Carabobo to repair electric motors. Soon after, a customer's need led them to take on their first transformer repair, marking the start of a new stage of growth and specialization.
Costel, C.A. was formally registered in 1964. Over the following decades that small operation evolved and broadened its capabilities until it became Grupo Costel, today made up of Costel, C.A., Sidelca, C.A. and C.A. Mantenimiento Eléctrico Costel.
Today we are a multi-sector business ecosystem serving the most demanding industries: Oil & Gas, Mining, Steel, Agribusiness, Food, Manufacturing, and the strategic Power, Hydroelectric and Water complexes.
More than 60 years later, we keep building on the same principles that gave rise to our story: technical knowledge, responsiveness and commitment to Venezuelan industry.
